普罗米修斯（Prometheus）这个名字在希腊语里意为"先见之明"。他因盗火被宙斯锁在高加索山上，每天有一只鹰啄食他的肝脏，而肝脏会在夜里重新长出——这场惩罚持续了整整三万年。

The name Prometheus means forethought in Greek. For stealing fire, Zeus chained him to a mountain in the Caucasus, where an eagle devoured his liver each day, only for it to regrow every night. The punishment lasted thirty thousand years.

那天晚上，小喜和阿鸦坐在篝火旁。火苗跳动着，把两只鸟的影子拉得很长。小喜盯着火看了很久，突然问："阿鸦，火是从哪里来的？"

That night, Magpie and A-Ya sat beside a campfire. The flames danced, casting long shadows behind them. Magpie stared at the fire for a long time, then suddenly asked: "A-Ya, where did fire come from?"

阿鸦看了看火，又看了看小喜，说："你知道吗，在很远很远的地方，有一个古老的故事。从前人类没有火，黑暗、寒冷、吃生肉。后来有一个人，他不忍心看着人类受苦，决定去做一件危险的事……"小喜立刻竖起了耳朵。

A-Ya looked at the fire, then at Magpie. "You know," he said, "far, far away, there is an ancient story. Long ago humans had no fire — only darkness, cold, and raw meat. Then one being could not bear to watch humans suffer, and decided to do something very dangerous…" Magpie immediately perked up her ears.

"他叫普罗米修斯，"阿鸦压低声音，"是一位泰坦神。他趁众神之王宙斯不注意，偷偷爬上奥林匹斯山，从太阳神的火焰里取了一簇火，藏在茴香茎里，带回了人间……"小喜屏住了呼吸。

"His name was Prometheus," A-Ya lowered his voice, "a Titan god. While Zeus, king of the gods, wasn't looking, he secretly climbed Mount Olympus, took a spark from the sun god's flame, hid it inside a fennel stalk, and brought it down to the mortal world..." Magpie held her breath.

小喜攥紧了爪子："那宙斯知道了吗？神能忍住不生气吗？"

Magpie clenched her claws: "Did Zeus find out? Could a god really let that go without getting angry?"

阿鸦的声音压得更低了："宙斯当然知道了……而且，他准备了一个，谁都没想到的惩罚。"

A-Ya's voice dropped even lower: "Of course Zeus found out... and he prepared a punishment no one could have imagined."

"Then who created us birds?" Magpie asked softly, looking up at the stars. A-Ya thought for a long time. "Perhaps," he said, "we were always here."
