In Greek mythology, Poseidon was also called Earth-Shaker, people believed earthquakes happened when he struck the seabed with his trident in anger. Legend says he once sent a dolphin to court the sea nymph Amphitrite on his behalf, and the dolphin succeeded.

那天小喜和阿鸦站在海边，望着无边无际的大海。小喜问："阿鸦，海的另一边是什么？"

That day, Magpie and A-Ya stood at the shore, gazing at the endless sea. Magpie asked: "A-Ya, what lies on the other side of the ocean?"

"海的另一边，"阿鸦说，"有一位神，他掌管所有的海洋、风暴和地震。古希腊人每次出海，都要先向他祈祷……"小喜的目光落在了远处的海平线上。

"On the other side of the ocean," A-Ya said, "there is a god who rules all seas, storms, and earthquakes. Every time the ancient Greeks set sail, they prayed to him first…" Magpie's gaze drifted to the distant horizon.

"小喜，"阿鸦压低声音，"波塞冬的三叉戟敲地面那一下，其实有一只乌鸦在海边礁石上目睹了……"小喜瞪大眼睛，"是你吗？！"

"Magpie," A-Ya lowered his voice, "when Poseidon struck the ground with his trident, there was actually a crow on the seaside rocks who witnessed it..." Magpie's eyes went wide. "Was that you?!"

阿鸦晃了晃脑袋："那一下敲下去，海面瞬间裂开了一道缝……你猜猜，从里面钻出来的是什么？"

A-Ya shook his head. "The moment it struck, the sea split open in an instant... Can you guess what crawled out from inside?"

小喜倒吸一口凉气，往后缩了缩："不会是什么可怕的东西吧？"

Magpie gasped and shrank back a little. "It's not something terrifying, is it?"

波塞冬其实一开始很平静。但他跟宙斯争了很多次权，总是输。输了就发火，发火就掀风暴。海洋的喜怒，就是他的心情。

Nezha had ripped out Ao Bing's dragon tendon and injured the yaksha who came as backup. The Dragon King, humiliated, went to the Heavenly Court to file a complaint and threatened to flood Chentang Pass. Nezha's father Li Jing was caught in the middle.

Nezha didn't apologize. He said: this flesh was given by my parents — I return it to them. My actions are mine to answer for. He then cut his own flesh and returned his bones to his father, dying to take responsibility — and in doing so, claimed his freedom.

安菲特里忒答应了。两人在海底宫殿成婚，波塞冬从此有了牵挂，风暴也少了一些。中国也有海龙王，同样掌管风雨，同样喜怒无常——东西方对海洋的想象，竟如此相似。

Thor slew the sea serpent Jörmungandr, but was struck by its venom and fell after nine steps. Odin was swallowed by Fenrir. But — after the battle, the world was reborn, new gods rose, and humanity survived.

🌊 小喜若有所思，"所以……海浪，是波塞冬在叹气吗？"

小喜盯着海面，听着浪声。"阿鸦，"她轻声说，"你说海浪是波塞冬在叹气……那风平浪静的时候，是他在微笑吗？"阿鸦看着远处，"也许是。神也需要平静的时刻。"
"A-Ya," Magpie said softly, watching the waves, "if the waves are Poseidon sighing... then when the sea is calm, is he smiling?" A-Ya gazed into the distance. "Perhaps. Even gods need their moments of peace."
