盘古开天辟地出自《三五历纪》：天地未分时宇宙如同一颗巨蛋，盘古在其中沉睡一万八千年，醒来后挥斧劈开混沌，轻清者上升为天，重浊者下沉为地。

Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth comes from the Sanwu Liji: before heaven and earth were divided, the universe was like a giant egg, inside which Pangu slept for eighteen thousand years. Upon waking, he swung his axe to split the chaos apart, the light and clear rising to become the sky, the heavy and murky sinking to become the earth.

盘古怕天地重新合拢，便撑在天地之间，每日长高一丈，坚持了一万八千年。他死后，气息化风云，双眼化日月，身躯化山川，用尽自己换来了整个世界。

Fearing heaven and earth might collapse back together, Pangu propped himself between them, growing ten feet taller every day for eighteen thousand years. After he died, his breath became the wind and clouds, his eyes became the sun and moon, and his body became the mountains and rivers, giving everything of himself to create the entire world.

A-Ya paused, his voice sounding different. "Everything is here, it just has not been separated yet. This is the last story, listen closely."

小喜察觉到阿鸦的语气不太一样，也跟着安静了下来，"阿鸦……你今天怎么了？"

Magpie noticed A-Ya's tone was a little different, and quieted down too. "A-Ya... what's going on with you today?"

小喜小声问，"阿鸦，你今天到底是怎么了？"

Magpie asked softly, "A-Ya, what's really going on with you today?"

阿鸦沉默了一会儿，"这个故事，要从没有开始的开始讲起。"

A-Ya was quiet for a moment. "This story begins from the beginning that had no beginning."

A-Ya, you just said everything is inside this mist, so... where is Pangu?

他就睡在这团混沌里，像一颗巨大的蛋，一睡就是一万八千年，谁也没见过外面的光。

He was asleep inside this chaos, like inside a giant egg, sleeping for eighteen thousand years, never once seeing the light outside.

有一天，他睁开眼睛，只觉得漆黑一片、闷得喘不过气，就抄起一把巨斧，狠狠劈了下去——轻而清的东西飞升成了天，重而浊的东西沉降成了地。

One day, he opened his eyes and felt suffocated by the pitch darkness, so he grabbed a great axe and swung it with all his might, the light and clear things rose up to become the sky, the heavy and murky things sank down to become the earth.

盘古也是这么担心的，所以他站在天地中间，用身体把它们撑开，每天都要再长高一丈，就这样又坚持了一万八千年，直到天地彻底稳固下来。

Pangu worried about that too, so he stood between heaven and earth, using his own body to hold them apart, growing ten feet taller every single day, and he kept this up for another eighteen thousand years until heaven and earth were completely stable.

小喜轻声问，"那后来呢？盘古还好吗？"阿鸦沉默了很久，声音有点哑，"天地稳固之后，盘古也累了，缓缓倒了下去。他的气息变成了风和云，声音变成了雷霆，左眼变成了太阳，右眼变成了月亮，身体变成了山川大地，血液变成了江河湖海……我们现在看到的每一寸天地，其实都是他。"小喜怔怔地看着阿鸦，第一次看见他眼眶有点红。
Magpie asked softly, "And then? Is Pangu okay?" A-Ya was silent for a long moment, his voice a little hoarse, "Once heaven and earth were stable, Pangu grew tired too, and slowly lay down. His breath became the wind and clouds, his voice became thunder, his left eye became the sun, his right eye became the moon, his body became the mountains and land, his blood became the rivers, lakes, and seas... Every inch of the world we see now is, in truth, still him." Magpie stared at A-Ya, and for the first time noticed his eyes were a little red.
