在日本最古老的神话记载里，天照大神是太阳女神，也是众神中地位最高的一位。传说她的弟弟素戋呜尊性情狂暴，多次在天界闯祸——毁坏农田、弄脏神殿，甚至惊吓到正在织布的织女，导致织女意外身亡。天照大神又气又怕，一气之下躲进了一个叫"天岩户"的山洞，还用巨石把洞口堵住。

In Japan's oldest surviving myths, Amaterasu is the sun goddess and the highest-ranking deity among the gods. Her brother Susanoo, the story goes, had a wild and destructive temper — he ruined rice fields, defiled sacred halls, and even startled a weaving maiden so badly that she died. Furious and frightened, Amaterasu retreated into a cave called Ama-no-Iwato and sealed the entrance with a massive boulder.

太阳女神一躲起来，天地间瞬间失去了光明，白天变成了黑夜，庄稼枯萎，妖怪也开始在黑暗里四处作乱。八百万神明聚在一起商量对策，最后想出了一个巧妙的主意——他们没有强行去拉开石门，而是在洞口办了一场热闹的宴会，还挂上了一面镜子。

The moment the sun goddess vanished, the world was plunged into darkness. Day became night, crops withered, and spirits began causing chaos in the dark. Eight million gods gathered to figure out what to do, and eventually came up with a clever plan — instead of trying to force the boulder open, they threw a lively celebration right outside the cave, and hung up a mirror.

小喜盯着一幅漆黑一片的画，忍不住打了个寒颤："阿鸦，这幅画怎么什么都看不见？是画坏了吗？"

Magpie stared at a painting that was completely pitch black and shivered. "A-Ya, why can't I see anything in this painting? Is it broken?"

阿鸦摇摇头："画没坏，这画的其实是'没有太阳的世界'。传说曾经有一位女神，因为生气，把自己关进了山洞，结果整个世界都陷入了黑暗。"小喜倒吸一口气："那后来呢？世界一直黑着吗？"

A-Ya shook his head. "The painting isn't broken — it's actually showing a world without the sun. According to legend, a goddess once got so angry that she shut herself inside a cave, and the entire world fell into darkness." Magpie gasped. "So then what? Did the world just stay dark forever?"

阿鸦意味深长地笑了笑："众神想了一个特别巧妙的办法，没有硬闯，而是先——办了一场热闹的宴会。"

A-Ya gave a knowing smile. "The gods came up with a very clever plan. Instead of forcing their way in, they started with — a lively celebration."

小喜一脸疑惑："办宴会？这时候还有心情办宴会？"

Magpie looked baffled. "A celebration? Who has the mood for that right now?"

阿鸦眨眨眼："关键还不在宴会本身，而是他们悄悄准备的一面镜子。"

A-Ya winked. "The real trick wasn't the celebration itself — it was a mirror they quietly prepared."

他们请来了一位擅长跳舞的女神，叫天钿女命。她站在一个倒扣的木桶上，跳起了又滑稽又热闹的舞蹈，跳到兴起时甚至半裸着身子。周围的神明们看得哈哈大笑，笑声响彻天地。
They invited a goddess skilled in dance, named Ame-no-Uzume. She stood on an overturned wooden tub and danced a wild, comical dance, even baring herself as she got carried away. The gods around her roared with laughter, and the sound echoed across heaven and earth.

天照大神在洞里听到外面这么热闹，觉得很奇怪——按理说自己不在，世界应该一片死寂才对，怎么反而这么开心？她忍不住有点好奇，悄悄挪开了一点点石头，想看看外面到底发生了什么。
Inside the cave, Amaterasu heard all the commotion outside and found it strange — with her gone, the world should have been gloomy and silent, so why did everyone sound so happy? Curiosity got the better of her, and she quietly shifted the boulder just a little, wanting to see what was going on outside.

就在这时，众神拿出了早就准备好的镜子，正对着洞口。天照大神一探头，正好看见镜子里那个发着光的自己，还以为外面出现了另一位跟自己一样耀眼的女神，一时看呆了。
Right at that moment, the gods held up the mirror they'd prepared, pointing it straight at the cave entrance. The moment Amaterasu peeked out, she saw her own radiant reflection in the mirror and, mistaking it for another goddess just as brilliant as herself, was momentarily stunned.

In that split second of distraction, a god of tremendous strength seized the moment and pulled the boulder wide open, coaxing her out. The sun shone over the land once more, the crops came back to life, and the world was finally bright again.

传说中天钿女命跳舞用的那面镜子，后来被供奉为日本三大神器之一——八咫镜，据说至今仍保存在伊势神宫，从未有人亲眼见过它的真容。🪞🌅

According to legend, the mirror used in that dance was later enshrined as one of Japan's Three Sacred Treasures — the Yata no Kagami. It is said to still be kept at Ise Grand Shrine to this day, and no one has ever laid eyes on it directly.
