In July 1969, nearly six hundred million people around the world sat glued to their television screens, waiting for the same historic moment, the first time a human being would set foot on the surface of the Moon. This space exploration effort, known as the Apollo program, brought together years of dedicated work from thousands of scientists and engineers, all to accomplish this remarkable journey of 380,000 kilometers.
